RESPECT: Referees & Children

Many games in junior football are now being played without a referee.

There are many reasons for this, but unfortunately, touchline behaviour from spectators and, in some cases, Managers and Coaches is a contributing factor.

Many of the referees at junior games are children, as referees are encouraged to take up the whistle from age 14. They should be supported and encouraged by all as they learn how to become a proficient referee, just as the other children are learning to play the game as players.

Please watch these short 2-minute videos from the FA.

If you come across any of our spectators or coaching staff behaving like "Geoff the biscuit"  at our matches, please report the incident.

The Club will seek to educate and, where required, take the necessary action to prevent this all too common behaviour that endangers the game's future for our children.
